SYSTRA Canada selected for major metro maintenance program
SYSTRA Canada has been selected by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), the public transport agency that operates Montreal’s integrated transit network, for a historic project.
Our teams will lead a partnership with WSP for the implementation of a major asset management-replacement program involving Montreal's metro equipment and infrastructure. This network is well-known to SYSTRA, whose teams worked on it in the early 1960s designing the first three lines.
Commenting on this win, Samuel Derosiaux, Transit Vice President at SYSTRA Canada, said: "This success is a major step in the growth of SYSTRA in the transit industry in Canada after the Quebec contract we won a year ago. This is also a recognition by the metro system operators in Canada of our proficiency in managing assets. SYSTRA is a natural partner for the successful implementation of such critical programs: good news, all the more because the country is currently full of opportunities! Congratulations to all the team members who contributed to this crucial win which opens up other new and exciting opportunities in the country."
A wide range of SYSTRA skills in action
This long-term mandate, scheduled to last for at least six years, will allow our team, based in STM's project office, to bring its wealth of experience, expertise and know-how to the successful implementation of the specific Reno-Systems program, which covers disciplines such as train control engineering, railway signalling, noise treatment and attenuation, tunnel ventilation, and metro traction power supply, among others.
A developing client relationship
SYSTRA Canada was recently involved in another major urban project on behalf of STM, accompanying it in the electrification of its bus fleet. This proved an opportunity to build on our experience in complex systems integration. Strengthening our relationship with agencies like STM, providing innovative solutions and thought leadership is crucial to increasing our transit business in Canada.
