SYSTRA has been awarded at this year’s APTA event in New York
Last month, SYSTRA colleagues in the USA were awarded at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) annual flagship event for the public transportation industry, where we had a kiosk and participated in a technical panel discussion.
This year saw a reimagined, reinvented and reinvigorated meeting dubbed the 2019 APTA TRANSform Conference where learning, sharing, experiencing, and networking took centre stage, providing the latest in policy, technology, and new mobility ideas.
Prestigious awards for SYSTRA
Jeffrey Wharton, Director – Alternative Delivery Service SYSTRA New York, NY, received the Outstanding Public Transportation Business Member Award and Richard A. White, Chief Strategic Officer received the Hall of Fame Award. On behalf of the honorees and the American Public Transit Foundation (APTF), SYSTRA helped raise a scholarship fund through donations made to the SYSTRA Matching Funds Campaign.
Pierre Gosset, SYSTRA's Chief Technical Officer participated in a panel discussion entitled Global Lessons and Practices for High-Speed and Intercity Passenger Rail, during which he made a presentation highlighting the Group's wealth of experience in the field of high-speed rail across the globe.
With a focus on China, where the Group has completed eight high-speed rail (HSR) projects and has one underway, the presentation was an opportunity to learn about the best practices of China's HSR program and how some of its aspects can be implemented in the USA and elsewhere.
The 2019 APTA TRANSform Conference took place from 13th to 16th October at the Marriott Marquis, New York, NY.
